Why Natural Soap?
We're asked often what's the difference between our natural soaps and other store bought, or even other brands of natural soaps?
Our soaps are made with pure olive oil as the #1 ingredient. Olive oil has deeply moisturizing and nourishing properties. It's known to help to relieve dry skin and soften wrinkles. Mass produced soaps are often made by combining detergents, lathering agents and synthetic ingredients.
We then blend in coconut, kukui, macadamia and sweet almond oils… resulting in an all natural bar of soap that's pure heaven.
It starts with glycerin.
Many people have been made to believe that lather is the cleaning agent in soaps. Commercial soaps lather up easily because lathering agents, usually petroleum-based ones, are their main ingredients. Lathering agents are drying for the skin.
One of the natural byproducts of the process of making soap is glycerin. Glycerin is a great skin moisturizer, a humectant because it draws moisture to it and emollient that softens the skin.
When made traditionally, natural soaps contain glycerin which hydrates your skin while bathing.
Store-bought or commercially-produced soaps are usually processed to remove the glycerin. It strips the skin of its natural oils, leaving it dry and ashy. You may feel that your skin is soft right after a shower, but you may have noticed that this effect disappears as soon as your skin dries. This is because commercial soaps lack the ingredients that can keep the skin moisturized for hours.
On the other hand, handmade soaps from a natural soap company retain their glycerin, therefore giving a key ingredient required to avoid dry skin.
Natural soap is made with ingredients that are readily found in nature. In the process of producing Natural Soaps, Antioxidant properties are preserved in its ingredients. Antioxidants help the skin repair itself by reducing inflammation and keeping your skin looking younger and fresh.
The presence of more antioxidants on natural soaps rejuvenates the skin and helps in slowing down the aging process. Also, the pH level of organic products is between 9 and 10. It means that it is gentler on your skin and it makes the skin less prone to irritation.
